Formia – Women’s Day “In Piazza per te” returns

Formia – Women’s Day, “In the Square for You” returns. Free consultations for early diagnosis

A visit can save your life. With Women’s Day, “In Piazza per te” returns, the awareness and prevention campaign against breast cancer promoted by the municipal administration and the Naval Center of the Guardia di Finanza of Formia in collaboration with the ASL of Latina and the local committees of the Italian Red Cross and A.N.D.O.S. (National Association of Breast Operated Women).

The event will take place on Tuesday, March 8, from 9 a.m.30 at 5 p.m. in Piazza della Vittoria.

Interested women will be able to benefit from free breast consultations carried out by specialist doctors from the Asl, assisted by volunteer nurses from the Italian Red Cross – Local Committee of Fondi. Where doctors deem it appropriate, the examinations will be followed by in-depth ultrasound examinations to be performed on the same day

The service is totally free and no reservation is required.

The groove is the one traced in 2015 when 160 women were visited and as many as four cases of breast cancer were found. Thanks to early diagnosis, patients were referred to specialist treatment centers in Naples and Rome and were thus able to start the treatment process before the disease took its course and rendered all interventions useless.

“Taking care of women’s health,” comments Patrizia Menanno, Equal Opportunity Delegate of the Municipality of Formia, “is the best way to celebrate the anniversary of March 8. We have chosen this day in remembrance of the social, political and economic achievements of women but also not to forget the violence and discrimination of which, even today, they are targets. Health is the first right of every citizen, as enshrined in our Constitution. We thank the Guardia di Finanza and in particular the cap.

Giuliana Corrado, for her sensitivity, determination and commitment, but also all the volunteers and volunteers who have joined and will donate their day for women&#8221s health;.
