Formia – Music for women in labor Bartolomeo
Formia – Music for women in labor, Bartolomeo: “I congratulate our obstetrics department.”
Music in the delivery room to ease the tension of labor. The idea was put into practice by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the “Dono Svizzero” hospital in Formia. The hi-fi system, provided by the “Liberi di sognare” Association of Santi Cosma e Damiano, allows expectant mothers to experience the delicate moment of childbirth in a more relaxed atmosphere.
“I congratulate Dr. Angelo Di Bello-supports First Citizen Sandro Bartolomeo-and with the entire Obstetrics and Gynecology team. There is evidence of the beneficial effect that pleasant melodies have on the psyche of women called to such a busy time.
Before coming to the ward, expectant mothers are given the opportunity to choose a play list of music, the ones they love the most, which perhaps evoke pleasant memories and can help them relax. I thank the association ‘Liberi di sognare’ and the medical staff who decided to adopt this beautiful initiative. Sometimes little is needed to make things better.
This is the health care we want: competent, humane and close to people’s needs”.
